Nakatira sa boundary ng Rincon at Pasolo, si Jerry B. Gracio ay itinuturing ng mga kritiko bilang “isa sa pinakamatingkad na tinig sa panulaang Filipino sa kasalukuyan.” Nagsusulat din siya ng mga pelikula at teleserye, bilang senior writer ng ABS-CBN. Kabilang sa kanyang mga parangal ang Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, Makata ng Taon 2005, ang Gawad Dr. Pio Valenzuela para sa Panitikan, ang University of the Philippines Centennial Prize for Literature, at dalawang National Book Awards para sa kanyang mga aklat na Apokripos at Aves na parehong ipinablis ng UP Press. Autor din siya ng Waray Hiunong sa Gugma/Walang Tungkol sa Pag-ibig na inilatha ng Ateneo de Naga University Press. Noong 2015, iginawad sa kanya ang Southeast Asia (SEAWrite) Award sa Bangkok, ang pinakamataas na parangal na ibinibigay sa mga manunulat sa Timog-Silangang Asia.
