READING ICON FOR NOVEMBER 2018: Mr. Elijah John F. Dar Juan of Balangkas, Valenzuela City

November is Library and Information Services month and it is indeed fitting to have a library professional as PLV Library's Reading Icon. He is none other than, Mr. Elijah John F. Dar Juan.  Mr. Dar Juan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science at the School of Library and Information Studies of the University of the Philippines Diliman (UP SLIS) in 2007. By God’s grace, he successfully passed the 17 th Librarian Licensure Examination in November 2008 and achieved First Place among the examinees. Mr. Elijah John F. Dar Juan is PLV Library's Reading Icon for the month of November. Being a professional librarian for a decade, he is equipped with specialized work and training experience in library and information work. He served in The University Library of UP Diliman for five years, four of which as a reference librarian and a cataloger. READING ICON FOR SEPTEMBER 2018: Ms. Marinette Panganiban

Want to be a successful writer? Then you better check out our Reading Icon's collection this month of September because she is one! Marinette Panganiban is a former news writer and field reporter at Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation (IBC13). Currently, she is working as a content writer for a creative and digital marketing services agency. READING ICON FOR JULY 2018: Teacher Mary Rose Lagunsad

Let us welcome Teacher Mary Rose Lagunsad as the Reading Icon for July 2018! Teacher Mary Rose Lagunsad Mary Rose A. Lagunsad is one of the NCR Coordinators and Workshop Trainers/Facilitators of Pinoy Reading Buddies. She took her Bachelor ’ s Degree in Elementary Education with Specialization in Early Childhood Education from the New Era University.  She juggled her roles as a mom, wife, PNU MA Ed Special Education student, bibliophile & Academic Coordinator of Montessori Academy of Valenzuela, where she taught in their Elementary and High School Departments from 2002 to 2012. Teacher Marose, as she is fondly called, answered her calling to serve the underprivileged in 2012. READING ICON FOR JUNE 2018: Michael King Urieta

The PLV Library is featuring Michael King Urieta as its Reading Icon for June 2018. You will instantly know that Mr. Urieta is indeed into books and reading by having one quick glance at his office. It is also apparent in the keen manner that he carries out profound discussions.  Michael King Urieta is a book collector, theater practitioner, and an event designer.  For 15 years of being in the theater, he has been part of around thirty productions, mostly with Gantimpala Theater, became part of its Aliw Award-winning children's musical Pagong at Matsing. Eventually, he migrated to do backstage work from then onwards. Having studied philosophy, his books range from Classical studies to Eastern wisdom, as well as a special liking to historical fiction and world history. Nakatira sa boundary ng Rincon at Pasolo, si Jerry B. The PLV University Library is now featuring Sen. Win Gatchalian as its Reading Icon for February 2018. The Department is very grateful that he willingly shared ten of his books from his personal shelf collection. Sharing the Happiness with PLVians: Book Tree Wishes

The PLV Library would like to extend its warmest appreciation to all students who visit and frequent the Library every month. As a way of saying "Thanks!", here are some lucky PLVians who received  a simple yet heartfelt gift from the Library. They got the chance to shop for school supplies at the Pandayan Book Shop located at the ground floor of the Student Center. READING ICON FOR JANUARY: Ms. Nancy Hira Lim, Instructor from the English Department

Our Reading Icon for January 2018 is Ms. Nancy Hira Lim, a long time instructor from the English Department of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela. She teaches Literature Research, World Literature, Philippine Literature, and Developmental Reading, just to name a few. One of her students mentioned that, "Miss Nancy prefers dealing with the classics. She is into books that never go out of style and she does not just settle on the literal level when reading or discussing.
