Welcome our Reading Icon for the months of October and November 2019 - Atty. Arnel Jose S. Ba ñas. Atty. Arnel, who hails from Barangay Marulas, was awarded the Gawad Pio Valenzuela for Excellence in Government Service in 2009. Atty. Arnel Jose S. Ba ñas is the Deputy Secretary for Administration and Finance of the Senate of the Philippines since 1998. Because of his outstanding contribution to public governance,  he became the recipient of the Gawad Pio Valenzuela Award for Excellence in Government Service in 2009. Atty. Ba ñas is the president of the Hubert H. Humphrey Alumni Philippines since 2015 and is on his third consecutive term. He had his Humphrey Fellowship (Human Resource Management) at the University of Washington in 2007-2008. Moreover, he is also a past President of Kythe Foundation, Inc. a non-profit, non-stock organization aimed towards improving the quality of life among children with cancer and other chronic illnesses. Meet our Reading Icon from August - September 2019, Dr. Joselito D. Delos Reyes. Also known as Sir Joey to many, Dr. Reyes was awarded with the Dr. Pio Valenzuela Memorial Awards for Journalism and Literature in 2003. Prof. Divine Matibag – Cabaddu is the CEO of the International Marketing Group, a brokerage firm with offices local and abroad. She is also a resource speaker on Financial Management at the Department of Trade and Industry - Philippine Trade and Training Center. Mr. Joseph Fernandez finished Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at De La Salle University and studied English Language Education and Clinical Psychology from the same university. He is a lifestyle columnist from 2006 up to the present where he actively writes articles on positive living, sports, and lifestyle management.
