Welcome our Reading Icon for the months of October and November 2019 - Atty. Arnel Jose S. Ba ñas. Atty. Arnel, who hails from Barangay Marulas, was awarded the Gawad Pio Valenzuela for Excellence in Government Service in 2009. Atty. Arnel Jose S. Ba ñas is the Deputy Secretary for Administration and Finance of the Senate of the Philippines since 1998. Because of his outstanding contribution to public governance,  he became the recipient of the Gawad Pio Valenzuela Award for Excellence in Government Service in 2009. Atty. Ba ñas is the president of the Hubert H. Humphrey Alumni Philippines since 2015 and is on his third consecutive term. He had his Humphrey Fellowship (Human Resource Management) at the University of Washington in 2007-2008. Prof. Divine Matibag – Cabaddu is the CEO of the International Marketing Group, a brokerage firm with offices local and abroad. She is also a resource speaker on Financial Management at the Department of Trade and Industry - Philippine Trade and Training Center. At present, Prof. Cabaddu serves as a part-time professor at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela, sharing her extensive knowledge and experience in finance, stock investing, and financial analytic skills to PLV students taking Financial Management. Mr. Joseph Fernandez finished Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at De La Salle University and studied English Language Education and Clinical Psychology from the same university. He is a lifestyle columnist from 2006 up to the present where he actively writes articles on positive living, sports, and lifestyle management. Mr. Fernandez acts as a Television Documentary/Talk Show resource person in shows such as iJuander, TNB, Aha!, UH, and Mars from 2011 until the current times. November is Library and Information Services month and it is indeed fitting to have a library professional as PLV Library's Reading Icon. He is none other than, Mr. Elijah John F. Dar Juan.  Mr. Dar Juan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science at the School of Library and Information Studies of the University of the Philippines Diliman (UP SLIS) in 2007. By God’s grace, he successfully passed the 17 th Librarian Licensure Examination in November 2008 and achieved First Place among the examinees. Mr. Elijah John F. Being a professional librarian for a decade, he is equipped with specialized work and training experience in library and information work.
